When does Christmas really begin?…
Does it start in August when the hotels and restaurants start taking bookings for Christmas parties?
Does it start in October when the Halloween shelves of orange pumpkins and sweets make way for red and green Christmas goodies?
Does it start in November when the shops start filling up with gift ideas and Christmas food?
Does it start in December when you open the first door of your advent calender and start the big count down?
Or does it start with a homeless child in Bethlehem who was born two thousand years ago? Does it start with a little boy who was called ‘Christ’ by his friends? Does it start with a baby who would challenge the powerful, confuse the religious leaders and show us how wonderful the world could be?
Does Christmas start with a cash register, or does Christmas start with Christ?
It makes a difference…
